Signs of summer…
It’s true indeed that one swallow does not a summer make, and on this day, predicted as the warmest day in the UK so far this year (oh, joy joy!) We know they are coming, fast winged from Africa. I made Swallowtail to celebrate their imminent arrival. Display her in shade, and you see only a few birds on her beautiful sails – but stand her in sunlight, in a window and see their numbers multiply! The fabric is by the amazing Sophie Allport. Bon voyage little ship. Xxx
‘Windflower’
Finished this morning. ‘Windflower’, to be blown wherever the breeze takes her. Her first port of call will be Fabrication this weekend. Bon voyage little ship…. Xxxx
‘Maia’
There’s more than one way to say it with flowers.. Welcome Maia, named for Goddess of Spring, rebirth and the return of the warm rays of the sun. Just hearing her tinkling laugh as she bobs and sways simply lifts the heart. Bon voyage little ship.
‘Calypso’
Launched as storm Henry howled round the studio, shaking the chimneys, trees and windows. She is Calypso, named for Homer’s enchantress with a power for deception. Her deceit is her fragility. No storm could throw this lady from her course. Bon voyage, little ship. Xxx
